Our individually designed, semi detached cottage is situated in the village of Ennerdale Bridge. It lies within the Lake District National Park, 1 mile from beautiful Ennerdale Water. Bright and airy inside, it is comfortably furnished and well-equipped.

Sandy beech and cliff top walks at St. Bees (30 mins drive). A five min drive from scenic Ennerdale Lake.

Family Friendly

Cottage

The Old Post Office sleeps up to 12 people comfortably and can accommodate large groups and extend families. It lies within the Lake District National Park, with a view of a field and stream to the rear. Downstairs is an enormous living/dining room at the front of the house. The high celing and original beams add to the feeling of space in this living/dining room. There is ample seating where guests can sit and chat, read or enjoy the TV with BT Sports Channels in front of the large wood/coal burning stove. There is a large dining table with a high chair available upon request. On the ground floor is a fitted kitchen with space to prepare and cook family meals and a good compliment of cooking itensils, crockery and cutlery. Also downstairs to the rear of the property is a twin bedroom. There is also a downstairs cloakroom with WC and handbasin. The first floor has a main bedroom with a king size bed. There is also space for a cot, which the owner can provide if requested when booking. Additionally, two twin bedrooms each with two single beds. The back bedroom looks onto a large field containing the river Ehen, which flows through it. There is a large family bathroom with separate walk-in shower, WC and handbasin. An original fireplace remains as a lovely decorative feature. The second floor has two further bedrooms one with a kingsize bed and the other with two singles. The cottage is also availabe for longer stays of up to 2-3 months for individuals or businesses. If you are moving house or working in the locally in the West Cumbria area The Old Post Office could be the perfect location for a longer stay. For hikers walking Wainwright’s Coast to Coast Path, The Old Post Office is a cosy home-from-home right on your route, particularly suitable for a group of walkers with accomodation for up to 12 people with the village pub serving great food.
